Badminton is my hobby. I started playing Badminton at the age of 8 years and my passion for the sport still drives me towards it. Even though I`m good in singles, my specialization is in doubles. I have won 8 state championships in women`s doubles and I`ve been ranked 6th which is my best so far.
I had been playing badminton since a very young age but my first taste of success was at the age of 9 in the District championship Under-10 category, for which I won gold. This was my first step towards success, leading me to a path less travelled. I always had an inner calling for this sport and my nerves would always say, Badminton was in my blood; even in my lowest point.
My coach Varun Khanvalkar helped me take my skills to a different level and this marked a turning point in my game.
My parents wanted me to concentrate more on my studies and not compromise with my grades, but I took that as a challenge and followed my passion whenever I got a chance to do so.
I have been a badminton coach since the age of 23 and have trained more than 60 kids.
I am proud of the current achievements of my students in Under 9 State champions - Avdhoot Kadam, age 7, winner; Jushi Jadhav, age 8, runner-up. They have qualified for PNB Metlife Junior Badminton Championship.
