An Extraordinaire, Wizard, Jaadugar, these were some of the names that were used to best describe Dhyan Chand Singh, a legendary hockey player who put India on the map in the world hockey. His skills surpassed everyone of in his time and beyond. His control over the ball took everyone beyond belief which earned him the name Jaadugar.
Even though his father and elder brother were hockey players, he had never really played hockey until the age of 16 when he join the army. It has been said that he used to practice ball control by sprinting along the length of railway tracks while balancing the ball on the track rail. These incidents reveal that only hard work and dedication makes you a legend.
